Notes for JWs (Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, Inc.) for your Visitation Bible

Please see our notes on the Deity of Christ, but also add…

Jehovah’s Witnesses

Is 43:10,11 – Witnesses of Saviour. Jehovah is the only Saviour.

Phil 3:20, Titus 1:4, 2:13, 3:6, 2 Pet 1:1 – Jesus Christ is the Saviour.

Doctrines on Christ

They say Jesus WAS Michael the Archangel and NOW is again.

– Heb 13:8 – He is the same forever.

– Dan 10:5-7,12,13 – Preincarnate Christ different from Michael.

JWs don’t pray in Christ’s name.

– Acts 7:59 – Stephen prayed in his name.

– John 14:13,14 – Commanded to pray in his name.

JWs believe that Christ did not resurrect bodily.

– John 2:19-21 – Prophesied that he would.

– Luke 24:39 – Clearly stated that he did.

JWs believe that Christ was crucified on a pole not a cross.

– Matt 27:37 – Sign is over head.  It would have to be over his hands, if it was a pole.

Immortality of the Soul/ Doctrine of Hell

Eze 18:4,20 – JWs verse on soul dying

Ecc 9:4-10 – Context is a man (Solomon) who gets his ideas from nature without a Bible.

Cannot be the final truth on the afterlife.

– Lev 22:6 – Body/Soul interchangeable in OT. So Eze 18 talking about bodies dying.

– Gen 35: 17 – Here the soul leaves although the body stays. Need NT to straighten out.

– Eze 32:21 – Souls are awake/conscious in Hell.

– Luke 16:19-31 – NT revelation that Hell is real and souls go there if lost.

– Matt 25:41 – Hell is everlasting.

– Rev 14:11 – Clearly teaches an eternal Hell.

  1. Concerning the saviour you seem to miss that you to can be a saviour. You can save your own child but you can also save others. Jesus, like other prophets saved people and even brought them alive, like Isaiah also brought some people back to live, though they are not God (and I hope you would not consider them to be God?)

In the end it is God who allows a medic or a fire brigade to save pepole and as such He is the Superior Saviour.

According to your way of thinking a doctor who saved a child, an adult or an adult must be God because that doctor saved a life! Or do you really think no man can save the life of some one else. So when you get somebody out of the water, who is drowning, you would say you did not save him from drowning? Or when that person considers you as his saviour would you think you reach the stadium to be God, because every one considers you the saviour of that person??

    1. Boy, you are really stretching things to get out of a scriptural truth.
Look up the verses. Do you really think that the NT claims that Jesus is a Saviour like a fireman or a doctor? I really think that you don’t believe that, but in order to justify staying in your unscriptural organization (JW or Christadelphian or some other foolishness) you somehow tell yourself that you believe it. Just be honest with yourself. The Bible says that there is one Saviour and his name is Jehovah and Jesus Christ was Jehovah manifest in the flesh. It’s not hard to admit, but I agree, it will be hard to leave your cult. But it will be worth it! 🙂

  2. Concerning everlasting hell. When a person has received his second death and as such is directed back to sheol (hell) he shall be death for ever and as such for everlasting.

    1. Mat 18:8
Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
      Mat 25:41
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
It’s the FIRE that’s everlasting. Your private interpretation does not fit the Scriptures. The soul burns in the fire for forever, it does not cease to exist.

What about you, Marcus? Are you 100% sure you won’t go into that fire. The Bible says you can KNOW. Do you?
      I John 5:13
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
