A Famous Patrick Henry Quote

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ.  For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here.”
~ Patrick Henry ~

6/5/2018: PLEASE READ THE BOTTOM OF THIS ARTICLE.  VERY IMPORTANT.

Saw this quote for a God and Country rally at an independent King James only Baptist Church.  Guess what?  Ole’ Patty was wrong.

You can mine quotes from anywhere to prove anything and it means nothing if it is not backed up by facts.

Fact: the legally binding, government endorsed Treaty of Tripoli says in Article 11:

“As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion;”

Ole’ Patty was wrong again.

King James Bible Believers need to get their facts straight and realize that no rally for “God and Country” will amount to anything in the Lord’s eyes.

Go to DC and see for yourself.  This country was founded by Masons and Ole’ Pat can go take a long walk on a short pier.  He is full of nonsense and just plain wrong.

5/2 addendum:

This post has become quite popular so I would like to throw more fuel on the fire.  Let’s break down exactly how Patty is no more than a Patsy or a useful idiot.  We will look at the quote directly.

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ.  For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here.”

Claim: “this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians”

Truth: Will we use the Bible’s definition of a “Christian” being a saved person who is a disciple or living for the Lord and following his commands.  Who are these men among the Founding Babies?  Every single one of them advocated for rebellion against Britain.  How does that fit, “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesars.”?  How does that fit Romans 13 or 1 Peter 2:13, 14?  Answer: it does NOT.  The Founding Babies threw out God’s word and rebelled against their King.  Were they even saved?  I would argue that many were not.  Few would argue that Franklin or Jefferson were, but even then, it doesn’t matter.  They weren’t obeying the Lord at this critical point of not rebelling against governors.  ‘MERICA WAS NOT FOUNDED BY CHRISTIANS.

Claim: “this great nation was founded… not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Truth: How was the nation founded on I Corinthians 15: 1-4? “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”  None of this is referenced in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, or the Declaration of Independence.  What more needs to be said?  Pat’s statement is ridiculous.

Claim: “For that reason alone, people of other faiths have been afforded freedom of worship here.”

Truth: What does the gospel have to do with allowing a Jew or a Muslim freedom of worship?  Nothing.  There is nothing in the New Testament about governments allowing freedom of religion.  Beyond that, the seeds of the downfall of the American government were sown when they decided that the Roman Catholics should be allowed to do whatever they wanted here.   Especially, I am pointing to the Society of Jesus.  I guess this is not the place to elucidate my thoughts, but history teaches that freedom of religion allows Rome to come in and take away freedom of religion.  The sad fact is that so-called Bible Believing Independent Baptists are the ones that should understand this historical fact, but they are ignorant.

All that being said, the ultimate problem here is that people are trying to saved something that never existed (a Christian America) and that had it existed at one time IS ALREADY GONE.

Bible Believer: Are you called to save countries or souls?  What saith the Scripture? Take your “God and Country rallies” and your “Capitol Connections” and send them plumb back to the Devil were they came from.  Lord bless.  🙂
